The classic Scotland tour offering all the best Scotalnd has to offer. Starting in Edinburgh, thsi tour takes you through the charming landscapes of Perthshire to Royal Deesinde. From there to the old capital of the Highlands; Inverness and then along the Great Glen with Loch Ness to Oban on the magnificent west coast. From Oban to Trossachs before returning to Edinburgh.

Day 1
Arrive Edinburgh Airport and pick-up self-drive car. Time permitting, spend the day in Edinburgh, Scotland’s Capital city. Later in the afternoon, leave Edinburgh and head north and cross the impressive suspension bridge over the Forth Estuary. On to Perthshire for one night.

Day 2
Time for some sightseeing in the small market town of Perth, also to visit nearby Scone Palace, the private home of the Earl and Countess of Mansfield. Later that morning follow the A93 to Blairgowrie, the road now climbs steadily through the skiing region of Glenshee to Braemar. This is the region known as 'Royal Deeside'. Pass Crathie, possibly stopping to see the church where the Royal Family attends Sunday service when on holiday at nearby Balmoral Castle. Overnight in the Royal Deeside/ Aberdeenshire area.

Day 3
Travel today through the Grampian Mountains, along the A939, passing Tomintoul, the highest village in Great Britain, and on to Grantown on Spey. Here visit one of the many whisky distilleries in the area and continue to Nairn, a popular seaside resort famous for its golf course and its beautiful sandy beaches. Time permitting, a visit to Cawdor Castle can be made before arriving for next overnight stop in the Inverness area.

Day 4
Leave Inverness and drive south. Follow the shores of Loch Ness, the most famous loch in Scotland. Stopping at the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre and nearby Urquhart Castle from where sightings of the 'monster' are most frequently reported. Continue along the A82, the Caledonian Canal, along Loch Lochy to Fort Augustus and finally arrive in Fort William, situated at the foot of Ben Nevis Britain's highest mountain. Continue along Loch Linnhe before stopping for overnight in the Oban area.

Day 5
A day at leisure to explore the magnificent West Coast of Scotland. Travel through the famous valley of Glencoe, which was the scene of the tragic and treacherous massacre of the Clan MacDonald. Or take the ferry from Oban to the Isle of Mull. Visit its capital Tobermory, Duart Castle or Torosay Castle
before returning to the mainland. Overnight again in the Oban area.

Day 6
After breakfast, drive inland via the Pass of Brander to Loch Awe. Head south to Inveraray with a possibility to visit the castle, seat of the Clan Campbell. Onto Loch Fyne, famous for its oysters and other seafood. Continue south on the A82 and follow the shores of Loch Lomond, the largest and perhaps most beautiful of all Scottish lochs. Through the Trossachs region, passing Drymen and Aberfoyle. Overnight in the Trossachs area.

Day 7
Travel to Edinburgh via Stirling and return car at airport before checking-in for departure flight.

Castle & manor House Hotels is based on luxourious Castle Hotels and Manor House Hotels.

Prces are pr. person and based on 2 persons sharing one car and one room and include:
