A Glimpse of Scotland.

A short, but a very good tour of Scotland, providing the best you can experience on a 5 day tour. Starting either in Edinburgh or Glasgow, and depending on if you just need accommodation or a package with car & accommodation, we will have a car ready and accommodation is pre-booked for the whole tour. This tour takes to Perthshire, on to Inverness area and further to Oban before returning to your starting point.

Day 1
Pick up self-drive car and leave Edinburgh, crossing the Forth Estuary via the famous Forth road Suspension Bridge from where we can admire the 100 year old rail bridge. Onto Perth for visit to nearby Scone Palace, home of the Earl of Mansfield. Continue to Blairgowrie and on via Glenshee, arriving in Royal Deeside/ Aberdeenshire for overnight in the area.

Day 2
After breakfast, a visit to Royal Lochnagar Whisky Distillery, situated in a beautiful setting near Balmoral Castle. Then take the road north through the Cairngorm Mountains, passing Tomintoul, Grantown-on-Spey and on to Forres. Time en route to visit one of the many castles and gardens in this region of Scotland. Continue to
Nairn, a popular seaside resort well known for its golf course and its beautiful sandy beaches. Maybe visit nearby Cawdor Castle, a family home

Day 3
See Inverness, the "Capital of the Highlands" and follow the shores of Loch Ness - maybe have a glimpse at its legendary Monster. Continue via the Caledonian Canal to Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain at 1344 m. Travel further south along the West Coast and admire the spectacular scenery of Loch Linnhe, mountains and sea. Finally arrive in Oban, a busy fishing port and departure point to the Hebridean Islands. Overnight in or near Oban.

Day 4
After breakfast, head for Loch Awe via the the Pass of Brander. Continue on the A819 to Inveraray Castle for a visit. This has been the home of the chiefs of Clan Campbell, Dukes of Argyll, for centuries. Continue along Loch Lomond, the largest and perhaps the most beautiful of all Scottish Lochs. Finally arrive in Glasgow for overnight in the city or nearby.

Day 5
Spend some time sightseeing in Glasgow. Glasgow boasts some of the world's famous Victorian architecture, plus a wealth of galleries and museums. Do not miss a visit to the recently refurbished Kelvingrove Gallery. The city is filled with incredible bargains on all-traditional Scottish fashions, tweeds, linens, crystal, china, crafts and gourmet food. If that is not enough, there is a variety of entertainment and talented performers. Return to Edinburgh Airport or Glasgow Airport and drop-off self-drive car before departure flight.

Mixed Tourist is based on 3 star B&B, guesthouses and 2 star hotels, all with private facilities
Middle Class Hotel is based on 3 star hotels the whole tour, all with private facilities.
First Class Hotel is based on 4 star hotels for the whole tour, all with private facilities.

Prces are pr. person and based on 2 persons sharing one car and one room and include:

• Accommodation for 4 nights in shared dblb room with breakfast in the chosen category.
• A rental car of chosen group for the tour with unlimited milage, insurance, CDW and VAT.
